One of Australian Motor Sports longest and most successful partnerships will be once again be to the fore next weekend in Perth when Dick Johnson Racing & Shell launch a new livery on the #17 Wilson Security Falcon. DJR have enjoyed a relationship with the famous Shell brand for over 30 years and will again be part of a marketing program at a number of rounds of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship.
Ford Performance Racing's young gun Chaz Mostert will drive the #12 Wilson Security-backed Ford Falcon for Dick Johnson Racing for the remainder of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship season as the two teams further expand their existing partnership.
The ITM 400 was fought out today in the last two races in the unique format in the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship at New Zealand's Pukekohe race track. The format repeated Saturday's back to back Qualifying process followed by two 100km sprint races. Tim Blanchard was on track for another strong Qualifying but two tiny mistakes for the Wilson Security Falcon pilot cost him a Top 20 start. Jonny Reid was also unable to continue the form from Saturday and did not improve his Qualifying.
The fans turned out in force for Races 6 & 7 of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship today at New Zealand's Pukekohe race track. The first two races of the ITM 400 once again saw the DJR / Wilson Security team bank another top 15 result with Tim Blanchard scoring a fantastic result with 15th place. Qualifying showed that the #17 DJR Falcon was on the pace delivering Blanchard his best Qualifying performance to date with P16. Jonny Reid was also on the improve following practice gains jumping both his regular combatants in the AMG Mercedes.
