Good Start for Wood & Pither in Practice for the Sandown 500

It was a good first day of the Wilson Security Sandown 500 today for Team ADVAM/GB’s Dale Wood and enduro co-driver Chris Pither with the VF Commodore responding well to set up changes.

With three 40 minute practice sessions, including two just for the co-drivers, today was all about getting the car set up for qualifying and allowing Pirtek Enduro Cup co-drivers some valuable time behind the wheel.

Wood finished the first practice session in 21st position, hampered by a technical issue, with Chris Pither then jumping in and finishing the co-driver session in 6th, backing that up with a 9th place finish.

Both drivers were pleased with the car’s development and it bodes well for qualifying tomorrow and the 500km enduro race on Sunday – the first of the Pirtek Enduro Cup races.

Dale Wood:

“I was pretty happy with how the car rolled out today. It’s the first time in a while that we rolled out the car and I’ve felt it was this good. We now need to just fine tune it rather than making any big adjustments.”

Chris Pither:

“I was really happy with how the sessions went for me today, straight out of the box. I’m rapped that we were in the top 10 for both sessions and I’m confident we can carry that momentum into the next couple of days.”

Tomorrow the main drivers conduct a qualifying session before a qualifying race for co-drivers and main drivers that will set the grid for the Wilson Security Sandown 500 on Sunday.
