Keeping the PAYCE

The final Dunlop Series car from the Brad Jones Racing outfit has been revealed today. After showing a lot of promise in his first full-year in the Dunlop Series, PAYCE and DrillPro are continuing their support of Macauley Jones in the #14 next-gen VF Commodore.

Less than 50 points kept Macauley out of the top ten rankings in the 2015 championship. Now, 2016 will see the team focused on solidifying Macauley’s position in the championship and aiming for his first podium finish.

Macauley had his first taste of a next gen car when he lined up as the co-driver in the 2015 Pirtek Endurance Cup. Macauley (and Dale Wood) achieved solid results in each of the Endurance Cup events. They finished 20th at Sandown, 15th at Bathurst and a 20th & 11th placing at the Gold Coast. The taste was clearly sweet as Macauley has been eager to get back into one of the cars since.

Macauley has been keeping busy in the lead up to the 2016 season. Not only is he passionate about his health and fitness, he works full-time in the BJR workshop as a mechanic on his PAYCE Commodore. Macauley has been working alongside the crew over the past month getting the cars ready for the teams’ upcoming test day on the 22nd of February and the season opener, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

Macauley Jones:

‘It’s really great to have the Brian and the team at PAYCE, John and Donna from DrillPro supporting me again for the 2016 season. I really want to step up my game this year and I believe the next gen car will help me to achieve my goals.’

‘It’s been a lot of work preparing my car for the season ahead. Two of the other Dunlop Series mechanics in our group have had some experience working on these cars before; which is great for the team and provides a great learning opportunity for me. I’ve been asking a lot of questions and the guys are always happy to help.’

‘The team as a whole have a lot of experience with these cars. I’m really excited to see what we can do this year and I am keen to get on the podium and get some great results for PAYCE, DrillPro, EBA Hire and the BJR team.’

Brian Boyd – PAYCE Chairman and Managing Director:

‘It’s great to see Macauley in the PAYCE colours for another season. I wish him the best of luck and believe he is going to have a successful season ahead.’
