Mechanical Issues Thwart Wood

Brake problems during the opening day of the Phillip Island 400 took their toll on Team ADVAM/GB and driver Dale Wood.

With three 20 minute practice sessions, it was an opportunity to tune the VF Commodore for qualifying and races on Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately for Wood the team battled with the brakes through the first two sessions and only got on top of the issue in the last session.

Wood finished session one and two in 25th position and the final session in 22nd.

Dale Wood:

“The braking issues definitely didn’t make it an easy start. I think we’ve recovered better than the times show. I think the car is quite good. We only got on top of the brake issues in the last session and then I didn’t really capitalise on it. I think we should be in a better position come qualifying and the races tomorrow.”

The Super Sprint Phillip Island round brings us two qualifying sessions and two 100km races tomorrow.
