Qualifying the Key for Wood

Dale Wood is determined to focus on his qualifying to improve results in his ADVAM/GB VF Commodore after a tough afternoon at Symmons Plains for round two of the V8 Supercar Championship.

Two 10 minute qualifying sessions were held back to back for the two 100km afternoon races and Wood lined up in 24th position for both races.

He finished race on in 19th position while in the second race an off track excursion left the Team ADVAM/GB VF Commodore in 22nd position.

Dale Wood:

“I really want to improve my qualifying. That’s the key. When you’re back there in the field it’s too easy to get caught up in accidents. We’ve learnt a lot today though and it’s about learning and understanding the car and making the most of the tyres to really nail it in that one lap that counts in qualifying. Tomorrow is another day and I’ll give it another good crack.”

Race three of the weekend is at 3:55 tomorrow afternoon.
