David Wall has finished a stellar weekend on the Gold Coast with a 12th place in today’s 102-lap race.

The Wilson Security Racing driver, who qualified 13th, and co-driver Chris Pither did not put a foot wrong throughout the hectic race, with Wall defending well in the closing stages to hold out Alex Davison. It follows a career-best seventh place in yesterday’s race.

Phillip Island is the penultimate round of the season and will be held on 22-23 November.

“This weekend is most satisfying because it’s the first weekend we don’t have anything to complain about at the end of it! We’ve got a straight race car and, although a couple of things didn’t go our way, it was a solid weekend and went according to plan.

“When I got in the car I was fuelled to the end so I drove to a time to make the most of my tyres. I lost a bit of tyre in the jostling for position but once I was clear of Alex Premat I was able to set my own pace before a battle with Alex Davison at the end, which was good.”

Chris Pither
Wilson Security Racing Co-Driver

“That’s the last enduro for the season and I definitely wanted to finish on a high note. We’ve had the potential in the last two events to have results like we did this weekend but a little bit of bad luck meant worse results than we deserved. I’m glad we managed to get a couple of respectful finishes to show what we’re capable of.”

I was certainly a bit anxious going into practice one for a mix of reasons. Any lap around the Adelaide street circuit is busy, let alone when it’s a new 911 GT3 Porsche that I’m still not all that familiar in.
