Top 10 for GP Debutant

Team ADVAM/GB’s Dale Wood made his Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix V8 Supercar qualifying debut today with a 22nd grid position for the first of four races at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit.

With no prior running on the Formula One circuit, it was always going to be a tough qualifying session but the reigning Dunlop Series Champion acquitted himself well, finishing less than a second behind polesitter Michael Caruso in the Nissan.

“It’s certainly nothing to rave about – I didn’t really do a great job with the tyres and I wasn’t overly happy with what the car was doing but we’ll see where we can go from here. I thought we’d get more than one lap on the soft tyres but really, there was only one lap in them. It’s going to be hard racing from here but that’s what we’ve got now.”

The V8 Supercars have two Grand Prix support races tomorrow. The first 10 lap race at 11:05 and the second 12 lap race at 2:25.
