Tough Qualy But Wood is Ready for Race Debut

It was a baptism of fire in this afternoon’s two Clipsal 500 qualifying sessions for new main game recruit Dale Wood in the team ADVAM/GB Commodore but he held his nerve to finish the sessions in 20th and 21st position for tomorrow’s two 125 kilometre races.

“It was definitely tough, there were a lot of guys going crazy out there,” he said.

“So I’m just trying to work out what’s going on out there.

“The car was good and I’m just leaving a little bit out on the table at the moment,” Wood said.

With qualifying completed, Wood has turned his attention to his first race in the team ADVAM/GB Commodore and after winning the Dunlop Series Championship in 2013, he’s ready to deliver.

“It’s definitely going to be tough starting down back but I’m confident that we’ll go alright,” he said.

Race one starts at 16.40 ACST tomorrow with the twilight race commencing at 18.50.
