Tough Racing for Wood

Dale Wood battled with not only other competitors but also car setup today at the Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix V8 Supercar support races.

After starting in 22nd position for the first 10 lap race, Wood was not completely pleased with the handling of the ADVAM/GB VF Commodore, finishing in 22nd spot.

After some major set up changes Wood picked up a spot in the second 12 lap race, finishing 21st.

Dale Wood:

“It’s such a tight field so it makes it so difficult to pass. It’s very tough but we’re getting some points together so hopefully it puts us in a better position as Sunday rolls around.

We definitely made an improvement to the car from race 1 to 2 but there’s more work that needs to be done. There were significant (set up) changes, it makes it very different to drive but I like it. We’ve just got to get off the line well tomorrow and things will be a bit different.”

Both of today’s races were won by Tekno’s Shane Van Gisbergen.

Tomorrow’s 12 lap race starts at 3:15pm, with another 12 lap race on Sunday.
