Wall & Pye Out to Repay Hard Working DJR Crew in WA

The Dick Johnson Racing team will roll into Perth with a brand new DJR built FG Falcon tucked away in the transporter.

After a marathon build of the new #17 for David Wall, the Wilson Security Racing team has headed west looking to put the carnage of Pukekohe behind them. Scott Pye delivered very good results in NZ and together with getting Wall back on track, the drivers are very keen to fly the flag and give the loyal DJR fans in Western Australia plenty to cheer about.

Both drivers rate the Barbagallo circuit highly – here are their pre race thoughts:

#16 – Scott Pye – Wilson Security Racing – FG Falcon

“I really like the place! I had some great results in my 2012 Dunlop Series year with Pole Position and a race win. Last year was tough, but the circuit is fantastic and the atmosphere with the fans is always good.

“The talk will be about tyre degradation for sure as we are again running the Dunlop Sprint Tyre. There will be different strategies up and down the Pit Lane, but our race pace in the WSR #16 has been very strong of late.

“This track gives you a real chance to overtake so I’m sure the WA fans are in for a good show. It will be great for the DJR crew as well to get a good result as they have been working their butts off to get Dave’s (David Wall) new car ready.”

#17 – David Wall – Wilson Security Racing – FG Falcon

“I am very pumped to get into the new DJR / Wilson Security Falcon this weekend in Perth. The guys have just done an amazing job after the wreck in NZ. It will be special rolling the car out and for the boys to see their hard work make it to the track.

“I think Barbagallo is a great race track, it has a bit of everything and is notoriously tough on tyres. Strategy will be key as Scott said, but we will push hard to make up for a big loss of points from Pukekohe round.

“The car has run on the chassis dyno and been given a good systems check, so there is no reason that we can’t get right back into it this weekend.”

Round 5 of the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship takes place at Barbagallo Raceway with the running of the Perth 400.
