WSR on the Pace During Practice for Phillip Is 400
Scott Pye and David Wall have shown some very good form during the three practice sessions today at Phillip Island.
The Wilson Security Racing / DJR pair featured in all sessions with Scott Pye topping the time sheets after the first 20 minute hit out. The DJR cars then placed P8 and P9 in session two backing up the early form shown by Pye.
As the field moved to new tyres for the final session, both drivers were again in the mix with Scott Pye the best in the #16 WSR Falcon, just outside the Top 10 in P12, with David Wall a few spots behind in P16. The field was very close with just one second separating the first 20 cars.
Qualifying becomes the focus of the team now as grid positions at the fast and demanding Phillip Island track will have a big bearing on the two 100km sprints on Saturday.
Scott Pye – Wilson Security Racing Falcon #16
“The car was good today. Everyone had ‘green’ tyres on for the last run so we are reasonably pleased to finish up in P12. There were a couple of areas we can find those few tenths in so we will be pushing to be inside that Top 10.
“It is very tight from P3 down, so if we improve the car it won’t be unachievable to be in the Top 10.”
David Wall - Wilson Security Racing Falcon #17
“We have been chasing the balance of the Wilson Security Falcon a bit but everything we have done has delivered improvements. I think I left a little bit on the table on my green tyre run and the splits are showing it was maybe a Top 12 car if came together in every sector. We certainly have a good base today so we will see how we go tomorrow.”
